Stop for Michaela Heider: the Wunderteam sprinter operated on her right elbow after a fall

The injury remedied in a super-g training session in Soelden: difficult to see her in action for the speed opening in Lake Louise.

Precisely in her last race in the World Cup, last February in Val di Fassa, she had obtained the second best result of her career, 15th in the super-g which had concluded the three days on "La VolatA", she who she had already placed 14th in the same discipline in Bansko, in January 2020. Michaela Heider, in the injury-torn Austrian speed team, is a good reference but, for the 26-year-old Styrian, the Olympic season got off to a really bad start. The OESV informed today that, a fall remedied in a super-g training in Soelden, in recent days, cost an injury to the right elbow with relative surgery, carried out this morning in Innsbruck by dr. Rohit Arora. The prognosis is defined as good, after the intervention made necessary for the laceration of the ligaments of the joint, but it will be difficult to try to debut in the opening of speed, from 3 to 5 December next, on the snows of Lake Louise.
