Thea Louise Stjernesund opens the Norwegian championships by dominating the giant on the snows of Oppdal

The 24 year old, in her first title in a "classic" discipline, beats Monsen and Maarstoel. On Friday the male giant, with today's prologue of the FIS race won by Timon Haugan.

With super-g and descents removed from the program, the national championships in Norway have started with the female giant. The last appointment of the 2020/21 season is scheduled on the snows of Oppdal, with the men who have experienced a sort of prologue, disputing a giant valid only at FIS level, with Timon Haugan winning in front of the 2001 class Alexander Steen Olsen (in light for the whole European Cup season), while tomorrow there will be the race for the title. At the women's level, however, the first medals were awarded today precisely with the test between the wide doors: for Thea Louise Stjernesund the first national title arrived, if we do not consider the parallel one of 2018, with the 24-year-old veteran from a difficult World Cup season (with only 6th place in the Lech PSL) that beat Marte Monsen, winner of the European Cup, by 59 cents, with Andrine Maarstoel bronze at 2 ”27 from Stjernesund.
