From Wednesday 25 August, Deborah Compagnoni is part of the very prestigious list of celebrities, from Sophia Loren to Alberto Sordi, from Federica Pellegrini to Alessandro Del Piero if we remain on the subject of sports, to which a section of the "Lungomare delle Stelle" has been dedicated, the Hall of Fame of the city of Jesolo. Yesterday afternoon, the three-time Olympic and world champion received the recognition directly from the mayor Valerio Zoggia, becoming the protagonist of the 2021 edition of the initiative. The Valtellinese champion has been assigned a very central stretch of beach, on Piazza Mazzini. And Debby, as a great woman committed for over twenty years at the head of “Skiing for life”, always in support of charitable initiatives, donated 20 thousand euros to the “Città della Speranza” Foundation of Padua. "This important contribution will make it possible to support a year of work by Dr. Anna Fietta, who in the next three years will try to deepen her knowledge, trying to arrive at a cure for childhood neuroblastomas, a very serious pediatric tumor", explained prof. Elisa Cimetta, coordinator of the research project with her colleague Antonella Viola. In the evening, Deborah Compagnoni was the host of the event organized in Piazza Aurora, in the heart of Jesolo, also leaving the famous cast of her hands to complete the ceremony. "I knew Jesolo from coming by bike on more than one occasion, then my maternal grandfather was from Venice so I frequented the lagoon and this coast, but now I will be here much more often - said the native of Santa Caterina Valfurva, as reports the “Corriere del Veneto - On the occasion of the Bormio World Championships in 2005, a track was dedicated to me that I visit every year to check that it is well covered with snow and I will do the same with this stretch of waterfront. I am honored of this recognition and to be part of Jesolo's star firmament. I have never felt like a star, certainly with the appointment of Ambassador and consultant for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics and Paralympics, I will return to the spotlight a little more ”.
