Verena Gasslitter, endless misfortune: again operated in Innsbruck. "I can only look forward"

The South Tyrolean sprinter, who returned last season after more than three years of ordeal, had to stop in mid-January.

An endless misfortune. Verena Gasslitter is forced to go under the knife again, having surgery on her right leg at the Hochrum clinic in Innsbruck. The 24-year-old from Castelrotto had to stop during this season, in mid-January when she was involved in the European Cup races in Crans-Montana, after scoring 3 points in the World Cup super-g in Val d''Isère, less than a year after returning to the maximum circuit which took place in January 2020 in Zauchensee. A real feat that of the South Tyrolean sprinter, returning from years of hell after the terrible double injury between December 2016 in Lake Louise (crusaders left knee) and the following year, when she suffered the displaced fracture of the tibia. "The pain in my leg has not decreased and I therefore decided to undergo another operation - Verena said this evening on social media - I have no choice but to look forward and hope that things will go better".
