It could turn out to be a fundamental race, the one experienced today in the fifth super-g of the season, the second consecutive in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Of course, also for the specialty crystal ball, which Lara Gut-Behrami has now mortgaged sailing with 195 points ahead of the trophy holder, compatriot Corinne Suter, with only the Val di Fassa and Lenzerheide races on the calendar. We are talking, however, above all about the fight for the absolute World Cup: the Ticinese in fact won again, but Petra Vlhova's response was a great champion, for 80 points which means she defended the record, keeping 42 points on Lara, and gaining significantly on Michelle Gisin, now at -182, but also on Marta Bassino and Federica Brignone, for whom something extraordinary would be needed to get back into the race and even the final podium becomes a bit more complicated.
Considering the calendar, the prediction remains on Vlhova's side, given that after the three fast races on "La VolatA" at Passo San Pellegrino, from 26 to 28 February, then everything will be in favor of the Slovak with the two technical races at home, in Jasna (with the possibility of recovering here the giant canceled in Semmering), and the slalom of Are before the finals in Lenzerheide where the two Swiss will go to the assault of the cup.
WCSL of super-g: thinking about the world race on 9 February, Vlhova herself has climbed up to 8th place and will be able to choose her odd bib before Elena Curtoni and Francesca Marsaglia who, considering the absence of Sofia Goggia , will be the last on the list and, most likely, will compete with the 19 and the 1 in the super-g world championship in Cortina.
