Patrick Thaler decided: will be at the start of the men's slalom in Levi next Sunday in the World Cup.

The 38 year-old South Tyrolean last week has obtained a small lesion to the collateral ligament in his right knee during a training session in Val Senales and now is completing physiotherapy under Luca Caselli guide before leaving for Finland. "The knee has responded well and has improved over the past few days, the physical conditions are quite good - says Thaler in fisi.org -. However skiing is a different thing and I'll know how the knee will react only when I'll try the race slope."
Italy's chances of doing well? Not many, as the Levi Black still looks less pleasing to the blues than the Rettenbach Sölden. Only Giorgio Rocca was on the podium here with a third place in 2006. Among those in their activities Thaler is one of those that got the best results: fifth in 2012 and 2014 and sixth in 2013, while Manfred Moelgg was fourth in 2012 and seventh in 2010.
Among women the situation is even more problematic and has been for too long: Chiara Costazza was eighth and fifth in both the 2006 slalom but it was another Chiara, who had not yet hurt her Achilles tendon and after this injury has not been the same as for example had won in Lienz in 2007. Manuela Moelgg has participated in all eleven played slalom in Levi, but has never done better than twelfth place in 2014.
