It is the second heir of the man who wrote pages of the history of skiing, almost eight years younger than his brother Elia, born in 1990 who has already collected 43 bibs in the World Cup (with an 8th place in the giant of Kranjska Gora 2017 as the best result, ed.)
The 21-year-old Alain, born in 1998, has yet to make his debut in the maximum circuit, now perhaps a little closer for the young Swiss after having obtained the fourth success of his career in FIS races, the third in the giant. In the test between the wide doors of El Bolson, Zurbriggen jr preceded three other compatriots and peers such as Kippel, Kuonen and Oehrli, having already done well the previous days with a 3rd and a 10th place in the two slalom, one of which valid for the South American Cup, and last week's trip to Cerro Catedral with another 5th place among the rapid gates and an 8th place in giant.
Pirmin's younger son later approached the same European Cup, competing in his first two races in last season's final, and it will be the continental circuit next winter that tells us probably what level young Alain can reach.
