Austrian athletes in Hirscher's stable? At least for the 2022/23 season we won't see any ...

No agreement with the OESV and Patrick Ortlieb, vice president of Austria Ski Pool, stresses: "Even Van Deer has to respect the rules".

Charlie Raposo and Timon Haugan are the first two athletes to be part of Marcel Hirscher's new team, which will debut in the World Cup in the 2022/23 season with his Van Deer skis and the two British and Norwegian athletes. No Austrians? There has been talk for some time about the not exactly idyllic relations between the Salzburg champion and the federation for which he won everything, also because with the new course everything has really changed inside the OESV and the same Toni Giger, historic Austrian executive, chose to embrace Hirscher's project. As reported by the "Kronen Zeitung", we will almost certainly not see red and white athletes wearing Van Deer skis in the next competitive year, at the latest from 2023/24 and probably only as regards elements of teams B and C. Patrick Ortlieb, vice president of Austria Ski Pool, made it clear that “there was a contract negotiation to be signed by March 16. If Van Deer wants to be part of it, he has to respect the rules that apply to all Austria Ski Pool members ”. “It's true, nothing has been signed but we are working hard because we want to do something also in Austria”, the “softer” tones of Dominic Tritscher, CEO of Van Deer.
