Another bitter, very bitter stop in a team already heavily hit starting from the injury of Mattia Casse (ready to return to Garmisch, after putting on skis in Bardonecchia in recent days) and passing through those of Alexander Prast and Guglielmo Bosca . The Italjet also loses Davide Cazzaniga, who was injured today after landing from the initial jump of the Kitzbuehel super-g, which the 28-year-old Lombard was facing with the bib 45.
The effort to stay up was very violent and it was immediately clear, from Davide's scream, that something had gone wrong: as the FISI press office confirmed to us a little while ago, the blue sprinter suffered a trauma sprained right knee, with suspected rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament.
The official announcement is expected on Tuesday, when Cazzaniga will be visited in Como by the president of the FISI Medical Commission, Dr. Andrea Panzeri, who will then decide how to proceed for his recovery.
