The fracture in his left leg is bad, with the tibia involved (and the insertion of nail and screws to stabilize it) and an injury to the knee ligaments, but his general condition is good and, with the return home, Marcel is already think about a future in motion that ... he loves it. “I'll be back, I have too much passion for this sport”, the words of the Salzburger, who apparently was traveling at a very high level in the race in Romania, in what is considered by the experts to be the most difficult enduro rally in the world. Rising from 60th to 26th position, before the fall and the return home, supported by his brother Leon and the historic physiotherapist who, after having had to leave Team Hirscher before the end of the career of the Annaberg native, accompanied him in this adventure. He was not present in Romania, but Hirscher knows well the one who brought him closer and closer to motorcycles (even on the track, just think of the tests at the Red Bull Ring), the winner of the Dakar 2018, compatriot Matthias Walkner who spoke at the “Kronen Zeitung” after the injury of his friend Marcel. “A ski race lasts only two minutes, a race day in a rally five or six hours.
