With the Garmisch-Partenkirchen super-g canceled at the beginning of the week, the men's European Cup will now offer two giants in Reiteralm, Thursday 3 and Friday 4 February for the fifth and sixth round of the season. There will be eleven blues at the gate, between returns and news, but also a certainty like Giovanni Franzoni who is determined to regain first place in the general classification of the continental circuit, after the splendid victory in the super-g of Saalbach-Hinterglemm; 2001 from Brescia is ninth in the ranking of giant led by Andorra Joan Verdu and in which Tommaso Sala is the best Italian, seventh, but with the Brianza who will not be in Austria having to prepare for the Olympic slalom. Alongside Franzoni, here are Filippo Della Vite, Tobias Kastlunger, Pietro Canzio, Simon Talacci and Lorenzo Thomas Bini, but also five athletes who come straight from the World Cup. Let's talk about Alex Hofer, Hannes Zingerle, Simon Maurberger, Riccardo Tonetti and Giovanni Borsotti: free, despite them, from their commitments at the Olympic Games, they will face the two giants of Reiteralm to bring home useful points to stay around the top 30 of specialties, thinking already in the key of the 2022/23 season.
