A historic triple race, which will be such thanks to the remodeling of the calendar linked to the Covid emergency and will therefore lead to Adelboden two giants on the legendary track (together with the Gran Risa in Alta Badia) for the specialty, in addition to the slalom that has now entered the heart of the Swiss.
From 8 to 10 January 2021, the stage of the Men's World Cup will be staged regularly, confirmed this morning by the FIS after the snow check that did not encounter any problems from this point of view. An absolute novelty for the Chuenisbargli temple, therefore, but in the negative there is an equally historic first, or the lack of public that, on a track like this, will feel like throwing itself into the final abyss.
After Zagreb, with the slalom scheduled for Wednesday 6 January, the men of the technical disciplines will therefore be called to a tour de force, with the fifth and sixth giant of the season between Friday 8 (10.15 and 13.15 the times of the two heats) and Saturday 9 (10.30-13.30), in addition to the Sunday slalom (10.30-13.30).
And it can only come to mind, in addition of course to the splendid victory of Zan Kranjec in the giant almost 12 months ago, how much the Azzurri combined in that challenge between the wide doors of 11 January 2020, with Luca De Aliprandini and Giovanni Borsotti in front everyone after the first heat. The second went very badly from every point of view, from the Trentino exit in the middle of the heat, when he still commanded with a margin over Kranjec, to the positions lost by the Piedmontese and to the serious injury to Manfted Moelgg, who broke the crusader in the first part of that heat to be erased from memory.
This time there will be two opportunities to make up for it ...
