World Cup in South Tyrol? All events with the public (75%) for Gardena, Badia and beyond

The Alto Adige Health Authority has approved the protocol to allow access to spectators, despite the several municipalities in the red zone. It will begin with the great speed challenges on the Saslong, on 17 and 18 December next.

South Tyrol will be the hub of the international winter sports scene in a couple of weeks, when four major World Cup events in the Dolomites will be held within five days, and you will be able to experience them with the public on the slopes. It has been established that the races in Carezza, Val Gardena, Alta Badia and San Candido will be able to take place in the presence of the public. The organizers of the four South Tyrolean World Cup events trembled for a long time; On Tuesday evening, however, the light turned green. The great challenges on the Pra di Tori slope in Carezza (Thursday 16 December) for parallel snowboarding, on the Saslong in Val Gardena (Friday 17 and Saturday 18 December) for super-g and downhill, on the Gran Risa in Alta Badia on Sunday 19 and Monday 20 December with the two classic giants and finally on the Baranci slope in San Candido, on the same days, as regards skicross, they will be able to take place in the presence of the public according to the provisions of the law and behind the elaboration of a strict safety protocol, approved by the South Tyrolean Health Authority. The corresponding state decree provides that public access to outdoor sports events is allowed up to 75% of the maximum capacity. In the designated areas, for all fans there is the rule that provides for the obligation to be vaccinated or cured from Covid-19, and in the whole area affected by the races it is mandatory to wear a mask. The organizers, for their part, have pledged to do without hospitality. “We are happy to be able to organize our events in the presence of the public, because the spectators make the atmosphere special. Of course we would have gladly welcomed our partners in the hospitality areas, but it was clear that under the current conditions it would not be feasible. We will do everything we can to make our sports fans feel good. And we are aware that we have a great responsibility, for this reason we will not only carefully check that all spectators demonstrate that they have been vaccinated or cured from Covid-19, but we will also be very strict in enforcing the obligation to wear the mask in the various areas reserved for spectators ”, underline the South Tyrolean organizers. Tickets for the Alpine Ski World Cup competitions in Val Gardena (www.saslong.org) and Alta Badia (www.skiworldcup.it) are available on the official websites of the organizers of the two events and must be purchased or booked exclusively online. . At Passo Costalunga and San Candido, admission will be free, but even in these cases all spectators must demonstrate that they have been vaccinated or cured from Covid-19 and wear a mask in the areas reserved for the public, as required by the state decree and by the security protocol.
