A small setback, after the opening in Soelden far from satisfactory (11th final place, after having "lapped" halfway through the race with the second time trial), for Mathieu Faivre.
The reigning giant and parallel world champion will in fact have to skip the Lech / Zuers race: as stated in today's press release from the French federation, the 29-year-old from Isola 2000 injured his left ankle during an athletic exercise, and "not it could be 100% for the parallel on Sunday ".
The problem, however, does not seem to be serious given that Faivre's departure has been confirmed, together with some companions, towards the United States for Wednesday 17 November; the two-time world champion, in fact, will take part in the two super-gs scheduled on the Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek from 3 to 5 December, and then focus on the home giant in Val d''Isère, on Saturday 11 December.
