There will be fun immediately with Ryan Cochran-Siegle, dominant here last year in super-g, bib number 2 before Clarey, Kryenbuehl (who could do very well considering the feeling with this track) and then Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, who he will have to prove that he has fully recovered after the fright on the Saslong and that slight swelling in his knee, just as he was going to take another double in Val Gardena. Christof Innerhofer was drawn with the number 6 and as early as tomorrow we will perhaps understand if the South Tyrolean will be able to play at the highest level on a slope that is his friend.
He will come back wearing the n ° 8 Carlo Janka, on his seasonal debut (it will be decided only after the tests whether to deploy him or not), then after Franz and Ganong pay attention to Kriechmayr with the 11 and to the winner of the last descent, Bryce Bennett (n ° 12), even if the Valtellina is a completely different technical context. Choices of different numbers compared to Paris for Mayer and Feuz, respectively with 13 and 19, between them it will be interesting to evaluate the condition of the various Bailet, Baumann, Hintermann (3rd on Saslong), Sander and Hemetsberger himself, while after the four-time winner of the Downhill World Cup, there will be Marco Odermatt with the number 20 to understand the secrets of the Stelvio both in view of the first quick race on Tuesday, but also and above all for the super-gs where Alexis Pinturault will also return.
There are nine blues entered: Matteo Marsaglia will have number 22 on Sunday in the first training, Mattia Casse (who returned in the 30 with the fabulous 7th place in Gardena) on 24, then Gugu Bosca with 48, Nick Molteni with 57, the Bormino and host Pietro Zazzi (61), finally the young Franzoni (63) and Franzoso (65), who should compete only in super-g, leaving instead the 7 bibs available for the descent to the other companions engaged in this last stage of the 2021.
