The Norwegian champion received, as usual, the award for the success last January in the temple descent. The same ceremony for a great of the past like the Austrian sprinter, twice winner in Kitzbuehel.

Two big names that go to “mark” a splendid list, that of the winners of the symbolic races of the season.
In Kitzbuehel, after having awarded in the past months, as usual for years now in the summer, Dave Ryding and the French slalom duo composed of Jean-Baptiste Grange and Julien Lizeroux, the turn of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and ... Fritz Strobl.
Waiting for the ceremony for one of the two triumphs of the descents last January, given that the Norwegian ace won his first victory on the Streif, the return to Tyrol is much more surprising, to experience such a special day alongside Kilde himself and of the organizers of Hahnenkamm-Rennen, of a great champion such as Fritz Strobl.
The 2002 Olympic downhill gold medalist in Salt Lake City achieved two successes in the most anticipated race for any speed specialist, in 1997 and 2000. 22 years after that second home triumph, the former Austrian downhill skier (who will toast his 50th birthday, worn very well, next 24 August) was celebrated as he deserved by receiving the gondola lift number 65 as a gift, with the signature of his name.
