A double serious injury, within a few hours and in the last training sessions of the season, for two protagonists of world speed.
The OESV gave the news this afternoon of what happened to Daniel Danklmaier: the 28-year-old from the Wunderteam was just back from the national downhill title, won a few days ago in Montafon, but above all from five top ten between super-g and downhill (on the six conquered so far in his career at CdM level), and now he will have to stop for at least six months, almost certainly losing the start of the 2022/23 vintage. Danklmaier, in fact, felt pain in his left knee after landing from a jump of 25 meters, in training on the snows of Soelden.
MRI performed at the Hochrum clinic in Innsbruck revealed a lesion to the anterior cruciate ligament and a lesion to the meniscus of the left knee; the Styrian class of 1993 will be operated on today by Dr. Christian Fink.
At home Slovenia, however, a long stop is also expected for Bostjan Kline: the 31-year-old sprinter who triumphed in the World Cup in the Kvitfjell downhill in February 2017, was seriously injured in training in Sella Nevea. The response after the fall on the Friulian nevi speaks of a fracture in the right leg, with a probable involvement of the tibia and fibula, with the Slovenian federsci who announced how in the coming days the times for the surgery and management of the recovery.
