France: Mermillod-Blondin returns on skis, Giezendanner injured

Good news and bad for the French men's team in Chile, at La Parva, as reported by Ski Chrono.

After completely skipping last season, Thomas Mermillod-Blondin returned yesterday to skiing for some descent in the free field. However at the beginning of the training the polyvalent of Les Grand-Bornand broke two ribs and despite this he went ahead in athletic training and to go to Chile with teammates. At La Parva, however, he again blamed those pains on the thigh that had been tormenting him for so long and so he moved for five days to Santiago to undergo examinations. Yesterday, finally, the return on skiing and today should train among the giant poles. Blaise Giezendanner, however, returns to France today after a fall in a superG Saturday training has pinned the internal collateral ligament of the knee. The Chamonix athlete feels a lot of pain but from the very beginning the crusaders did not seem to be interested. However, more detailed examinations will be made in the coming days to understand the exact magnitude of the accident. Giezendanner now hopes to be present in the upcoming season's World Cup racing events, the descent and the SuperG at Lake Louise on November 25 and 26.
