He could only start from the discipline that saw him win 11 races in the World Cup, from Wengen 2003 to the same Swiss location three years later, two world-class medals (with another bronze in combined, in "his" World Championships di Bormio 2005) and above all the specialty World Cup at the end of that 2005/06 season as dominator, with the bitterness of the missed Olympic triumph in Turin, the story of Giorgio Rocca's career.
The Livigno champion launched his biography, out on Friday 8 October with Hoepli Editore; “Slalom”, written in collaboration with Thomas Ruberto, “tells a story. A story made up of victories and defeats, unforgettable moments and less happy moments, united by the passion that has driven me since I was a child: that for skiing.
For better or for worse, all these moments told have helped to create a unique story. The story of my career. The story of my life".
