The podium of youth, albeit formed in a sensational way, with the series releases of Pinturault, Gross and Yule (and many others before ...). Be careful though, because the names alongside Clément Noel, the winner of today's slalom in Chamonix, are not random.
We are talking about Timon Haugan and Adrian Pertl, both born in 1996 (the Norwegian was born in late December, the Austrian in April), second and third behind the most famous '97 on the circuit (together with Marco Odermatt ... ).
Haugan had already been baptized almost two years ago by Marcel Hirscher, who said he saw one of the talents of the future in this boy: the Salzburg star was not mistaken, so much so that after having achieved the best career result only two weeks ago in Kitzbuehel with the 12th place on the Ganslern, today the young Viking has passed by taking the 11th time in the first heat with the bib number 33, and then reassembling up to two tenths from Noel.
Adrian Pertl had also collected the best of his career in Kitz with the eighth place, but after obtaining the first victory in the European Cup last week in Jaun, it was clear that the Austrian was ready for something big, even if he says he is totally surprised. "I can't believe what happened today, it would have been enough for me to reach the 30's to be happy with some points."
