The blues at the attack of the "night race": Vinatzer and Razzoli the headlights, Hans Vaccari is back

On Tuesday the Schladming slalom, the last men's race before the Olympics: seven athletes at the start, in place of Liberatore there is the Pontebbano who has returned to high levels in the European Cup.

Night race time, for the big night on the Schladming Planai which tomorrow will host the sixth men's slalom of the World Cup season. There is only one line-up variation, compared to the last races in Wengen and Kitzbuehel, in the Italian team that will face the last appointment before Beijing 2022. Hans Vaccari returns, more than a year after the injury to the crusader suffered in Flachau, in the maximum circuit taking the place of Federico Liberatore, who still has to find the best condition after starting late this season as well. For the Pontebbano, however, the results in the European Cup were more than good (8th in the last race in Vaujany last week) and therefore here is a new opportunity in the CdM. Leading the team of Theolier and Costazza will be Alex Vinatzer, the only one in the second sub-starting group and with a great desire for redemption after what happened last Saturday with the fatal crash at the start of 2nd heat, after having finished in the lead the first, and Giuliano Razzoli also a breath away from the triumph in the race on the Ganslern. Then there are Stefano Gross, Manfred Moelgg, Tommaso Sala, amazing 6th in Kitz, and Simon Maurberger who on the Planai obtained the best result of his career, 5th in 2020 just before breaking the crusader in the Chamonix parallel. Appointment at 5.45 pm with the 1st heat, at 8.45 pm the second.
