It was December 28, 2019 and for many, Hannes Reichelt had ended his career that day. A very serious injury, falling in the Fontana Lunga area on the occasion of the second descent of Bormio: front crusader and capsule of the right knee jumped, but already after the operation in Innsbruck, the super-g world champion (at Beaver Creek 2015 ) had shouted all his desire to return with the goal of the World Championships in Cortina 2021, to be played at 40 years old (he will celebrate them in a few days, on July 5th). Well, 178 days later, Reichelt is back on skis today in Soelden, on the Rettenbach glacier which became Austria's home during a period of restrictions and will clearly host the World Cup opening (24-25 October). Only a few preparatory exercises, in the company of the national team coach, Martin Sprenger, but a lot of joy in the heart. "Today was ... easy, I'm very happy with the first day and I'm happy not to feel pain - said the Salzburger after training - The rehabilitation after the operation was very good, now I want to take advantage of the good ones conditions of the local glaciers and also give the knee time to get used to the tensions of track work again ". And try to come back, like a real highlander.
