The former Wunderteam champion will remain in the ORF team, while the fans push for a successor with a name ... very heavy.

After a turbulent career closure, with the doping case involving him, Hans Knauss lived a second phase of his life linked to skiing always on the track, but with a completely different task.
The former Wunderteam standard bearer, in fact, has been working with ORF since 2005 and has made over 600 descents with the famous helmet camera on his head, to let fans experience the thrill of speed in reconnaissance; well, as the Swiss colleague and former rival on the track, Bruno Kernen, Knauss also ended this adventure with the descent of last March 8 in Kvitfjell. The Styrian champion will still be a commentator for the Austrian broadcaster, but it is not yet clear who will replace him in the role that made him famous in the post-competitive career.
The requests of the Austrian fans? The most invoked name is that of Hermann Maier, who in recent years has always limited his public appearances, dedicating himself to the family and children of his wife Carina, who was married last May.
