All in Maremma, for the first training camp dedicated to the next racing year.
The Austrian men's national team, in particular the group of sprinters led by veteran Hannes Reichelt, by the Olympic champion Matthias Mayer and Vincent Kriechmayr, is preparing on the roads around Castiglione della Pescaia, taking advantage of the splendid areas of the wildest Tuscany, with much work scheduled aerobics, long bike rides and athletic sessions to start getting serious.
The Wunderteam has certainly not found the ideal weather conditions on the peninsula, but in the ten days of planned work there will be time to get ready for the best, even for the young Krenn, Neumayer, Walder and Danklmaier, expected at high levels next season as well as an absolute point of reference as Max Franz, who is still in the recovery phase after the injury to the right heel suffered on the Streif, a stop that had forced the Carinthian sprinter to interrupt prematurely the best season of his career, after winning at the start between Lake Louise (descent) and Beaver Creek (super-g) and running for the specialty cups.
