The disputed Zagreb slalom? It will be recovered on 9 March in Flachau, which will host the men again

The FIS has formalized the decision: the overall specialty races in the World Cup return to ten, with 4 still on appeal and a very open ranking. We will compete at night, "compensation" for the women's slalom missed in January.

The disputed men's slalom in Zagreb, which was tried twice at the beginning of January in disastrous track conditions, before the definitive cancellation, will be recovered on March 9th in Flachau. With a lot of official status, the FIS has therefore relocated an important race given that, if for the absolute World Cup everything seems to have already been decided in favor of Marco Odermatt, for the specialty classification it is all very open with Braathen in command and many opponents who can play it. The recovery is therefore fundamental to bring the tests still on the menu to four, with the restart at the end of February in Garmisch with two slaloms and that of the Courchevel-Méribel finals. Between the fast races of Kvitfjell (where the jumped descent at Beaver Creek could be recovered) and the two giants of Kranjska Gora, this slalom is therefore placed in the Salzburg evening, given that it will be competed at night (at 5.45 pm the 1st heat, at 8.45 pm the second) and it will be a sort of compensation for the classic female skipped last January 11, due to the Covid situation in the country that gave birth to Hermann Maier. Flachau hosted two men's slalom in January 2021, even in that case it was about recoveries, with successes for Manuel Feller and Sebastian Foss-Solevaag.
