Foss-Solevaag's world triumph? It starts from Paganella, with nine days on the "Olimpionica"

The Norwegian slalomist has prepared the assault on Cortina on the Trentino slopes: "Perfect and varied slope, prepared as in the World Cup".

What is behind the extraordinary gold medal of the Norwegian Sebastian Foss-Solevaag, who graduated today slalom world champion in Cortina? Talent, sacrifice and determination, peculiarities that allowed him to hit two titles at the Italian World Cup, including the one in the team event, but one of the secrets of this gold is also to be attributed to how he prepared the world championship with his coaches, Michael Sutti Rottensteiner and Johnny Davidson. Where is it? In the Dolomiti Paganella ski area, in Andalo. Nine days in complete bubble, and we are not talking about the one foreseen by the FIS for the health emergency, with only training on the track, gym, relaxation and good food. Elements that have allowed Foss-Solevaag to find the right form and the right concentration for the most important days of the season. The Scandinavian slalomist worked on the Olympic II slope, completely reserved for the Norway team following the agreement that makes this ski resort the alpine training center of the Scandinavian national team. In particular, the Olympic track II proved to be strategic in the success of the new world champion, both for the perfect preparation and strikethrough prepared by the plant company technicians, together with the coaches and with the organizational contribution of Marco Dallapiccola, and for the analogy with the Druscié A. The two tracks are very similar in morphological profile and also in technical data: The start of the Cortina track was at 1710 meters, that of Andalo at 1680, the arrival respectively at 1490 and 1480 meters, with a difference in height of 220 meters on the Venetian track and 200 for the thirty one. The maximum slope on the world championship slope is 60%, the one that has hosted the European Cup for ten years at 52% and the two average slopes are 40% compared to 37%. "Those held in Paganella were high-level training days - declared Sebastian at the end of the last training session before flying by helicopter to Cortina - In Andalo we always train well, with tracks reserved exclusively for us, without interference and we have everything we need available. The slope of the Olimpionica has all the characteristics for a complete training with variations in slope and terrain always prepared as in the World Cup ”. And after the triumph: “I thank all those who helped me to achieve this result, starting with my technicians and also my friends from Paganella and Trentino”, he commented at the hotel celebrating with his team. The Norwegian national team is now expected as soon as possible in Trentino and Paganella, to celebrate the Foss-Solevaag double gold medal with Italian friends. Among the messages sent to the new world champion there was also that of the CEO of Trentino Marketing, Maurizio Rossini. "Sebastian, you are amazing".
