Injury to the thumb for Ramon Zenhaeusern, season over for Dominik Raschner

The Swiss Ramon Zenhaeusern got hurt on Sunday on the Trentino snows of Folgaria.

The 26-year-old from the canton of Valais fell during a parallel slalom training, getting a small tear to the inner ligament of the thumb of his left hand. The Swiss Ski medical staff is looking for the best hand protection to avoid surgery. Zenhaeusern will start as planned for Saalbach-Hinterglemm to make training rounds in view of the World Cup slalom next Thursday, after which he will decide whether to show up at the start or if he works if the pain is not bearable. Bad luck for the 24 year old Austrian Dominik Raschner, never a point for him so far in the World Cup, but today commanded the first round of the men's giant of the European Cup of Andalo. But the second one ended up badly for him because he fell, causing the crusader and the meniscus to break from his left knee. It will be operated tomorrow and of course its season is over.
