Just one year later, Schmid crashed in training in La Parva, Chile, as the German federation announced today.
The crash dates back to last week and, although less serious than 12 months ago, the DSV athlete will have to stop for four to six weeks before returning to the track, due to a bone contusion in the right knee and above all for the various fractures to the metacarpal of the left hand, already operated yesterday in Oberstdorf.
At this point, Manuel Schmid's seasonal debut with speed is clearly at risk, anticipated at the end of October with the historic “Speed Opening” in Zermatt-Cervinia.
