He conquered the Olympic gold in slalom with André Myhrer, at PyeongChang 2018, but to lead to the triumph of five circles the Scandinavian veteran from dt of the national one (with Jacques Theolier technical manager of the Swedish slalom, before returning from this year with the Italian national team), is just one of the many achievements in Heinz Peter Platter's career.
The 52 year old native of Prato allo Stelvio is one of the most respected technicians in the world and, not surprisingly, the Chinese federation has chosen to hire him as the new head coach of the men's teams in view of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games 2022; a long-term project, therefore, a bit 'as in the case of Darya Domracheva and Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, "purchased" from China to grow the biathlon movement thinking of the big event planned in 2 years and a half at home.
The objective of Platter cannot be to bring a Chinese athlete in alpine skiing to medal, objectively a mission practically impossible, but to start to insert some of them in the starting lists to guarantee then the Olympic presence.
