A career that stops again, just when the back problems seemed to be resolved and the second group of merit in the European Cup was an important chance.
And instead Giordano Ronci has to say goodbye to the dreams of glory, since his season is by now compromised due to a fracture to the tibial malleolus of the left leg, remedied last night in the 2nd round of the European Cup slalom in Pozza di Fassa.
In the final part of the "Aloch" wall, the 27-year-old Roman slalomist got on violently, suffering a twist that led to the collapse of the joint; Ronci had signed the 10th time in the opening round and was playing at least one place in the top 15, having given up the first two slaloms of the continental circuit scheduled at the end of November in Funesdalen, as the federation had not guaranteed him travel expenses, being an athlete of "national interest" only.
Then came second place in the FIS slalom at Pampeago, before the occasion in Pozza and later in Obereggen, where tomorrow will be the fourth specialty event for an already finished European Cup, for an athlete who continues to do accounts with bad luck.
