The Adelboden slalom startlist: n ° 12 for Vinatzer, with the '1 Zenhaeusern before Pinturault

Sunday (10.30-13.30) the fourth seasonal specialty event to close the triptych on the Chuenisbargli. Nine blues to forget Zagreb, with the "hungry" Val Gardena on a par with Kristoffersen, Yule and Noel.

A pack of hungry wolves, among the disappointed (and there are not a few) of the first part of the season and those who came out excited by the two giants of yesterday and today, first of all Alexis Pinturault and Filip Zubcic. This is how the Adelboden slalom looks like, for the fourth event in the men's sector, four days after Zagreb and that crazy race on the Sljeme hill that awarded Linus Strasser and a lot of Austria. On Sunday on the Chuenisbargli everything could overturn again, indeed it is definitely probable to see a completely different result in the appointment that will close the Swiss triptych. Start at 10.30 with the 1st heat traced by Omminger (Germany), the second at 13.30 based on a Swedish design by Masdal (both tests always live on TV on Eurosport and Rai Sport); Ramon Zenhaeusern, one of the many Swiss with great ambitions, but returning from two difficult races after the victory in Badia, will open the contest before the ruler of the two giants of Adelboden, an Alexis Pinturault who will play other heavy points for the overall, but also the stay in the first slalom sub-group after having made a lot of mistakes (Campiglio is partly an exception) in the first races between the narrow posts. Bib n ° 3 instead for Henrik Kristoffersen, the great disappointment par excellence of the first two days in the Bernese Oberland and called to change gear, at least in his discipline, to still hope for the World Cup dream; the Norwegian has triumphed twice in slalom over Chuenisbargli, in 2016 and 2017 (in the second case beating Manfred Moelgg), and will start a few moments before his compatriot Sebastian Foss-Solevaag, very brilliant in these first seasonal challenges between the narrow poles, also if the second heats cost him dearly. From number 5 to 7, three other men with great chances: first Marco Schwarz, on the podium also in Zagreb but still never winning in slalom, then Daniel Yule and Clément Noel, if we want the two specialists who suffered most in the first three races, never on the podium after winning three slaloms each last season. It will be a crucial day for the Swiss, who triumphed in Adelboden a year ago, and the Frenchman who already pays a good gap in the specialty classification from Manuel Feller. The Tyrolean will compete for the first time with the red bib and will start ninth, in a second sub-group of merit that sees Alex Vinatzer drawn with the number 12; after the fork in the first heat of Zagreb, the Val Gardena has all the possibilities to restart where he left off at the end of December, that is with the 4th and 3rd place between Badia and Campiglio. After Strasser, who caught the 15th (the track should be perfect as in giant, the weather forecasts are still excellent), and Filip Zubcic at the start with the 16th to try, who knows, even the first podium in slalom after the fantastic 5th place last Wednesday and the double place of honor in the giants on Chuenisbargli, we will then see the other eight Azzurri in the race. Manfred Moelgg will start with 20 and needs important answers after missing the top 30 in Croatia, Maurberger is leveling up and just needs to materialize (bib number 26 for the native of Valle Aurina), he finds himself at a crossroads Stefano Gross, bib 27 on the track that gave him his only success in the World Cup 6 years ago. To close the 30 we will then see Giuliano Razzoli, immediately in the points on his return to Zagreb, even if Adelboden is his hunting ground at least up to the final wall, where he will have to defend himself as often happened in the past. Liberatore with 39, Sala with 40 and the returning (in slalom) Tonetti with 51, will precede Tobias Kastlunger starting with bib 64 for his third World Cup race. The Marebbano skipped Zagreb to concentrate on the European Cup, where he took home the best placement of his career in the second slalom of Val Cenis, finished in fourth position. If the track will hold up as you think, it could really surprise you dreaming of the first qualifying.
