The curtain falls on the trophy of the Lauberhorn in Wengen, 2017. The three-day fact will end a tradition with the Special Slalom.

The Wengen Slalom, subject to exceptions due to the impossibility to prepare the best, takes place on the Männlichen / Jungfrau, track going down to the side of the Lauberhorn, with which it shares the target range, and it is considered among the most challenging of ' entire World Cup. The first edition of the slalom in Wengen, as well as other evidence of the Lauberhorn trophy dates back to 1930; They have since the 75 matches played between the narrow poles Männlichen / Jungfrau, 39 of which are valid for the Crystal Ball. The Swiss in the 40's went up 5 times on the podium and the Slalom, Downhill and Combined considering, the his 20 Total placings in the top three (of which 11 wins), the elect man most successful in the history of the Lauberhorn trophy.
Three Italians skiers capable of commanding - all twice - in the Slalom in Wengen Zeno Colo succeeded in 1949 and 1950, while in more recent times only Alberto Tomba (January 26, 1992 and January 22, 1995) and Giorgio Rocca ( January 19, 2003, the date of his first victory in the World Cup, and January 15, 2006) were able to excel.

The Wengen slalom will be staged on Sunday, January 15th. The first race will start at 10:30 am, the second at 13:30.
