A surprise announcement, for a slalomgigantist who never achieved great results, but represented a point of reference for his nation.

At just 27 years of age, Canadian Phil Brown leaves the world of "traditional" competition, which is the World Cup he attended since his debut in 2012.
For the one who, as the last points result in the maximum circuit, obtained a 22nd place in the Wengen slalom of January 2018, but above all the silver medal in the Beaver Creek World Cup 2015 team event (Brown has always been a great parallel expert), there is already a new adventure that awaits him. The Toronto native will enter the World Pro Ski Tour, the "alternative" American circuit.
Brown motivated his choice with a message on social media: "It's time to get away from a sport that has guided me all my life up to this point - the Canadian words - I write this post with mixed emotions, a little of sadness because I leave great friends, teammates and coaches, but also a lot of emotions for a new path on which to concentrate my energy, or the World Pro Ski Tour.
I can only thank everyone and in particular my family for giving me the opportunity to fight for all this. It was a difficult process to accept hanging skis, but I am fortunate to leave with good health and all the support of family and friends. I have not accomplished all my goals, it is true, but I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish with sacrifice, commitment, intensity and will â€.
