Everything is ready in Beaver Creek for the only test staged on the splendid Birds of Prey, to precede the speed tour de force which, from Thursday to Sunday, will see the jet men protagonists of two super-gs and two descents (Saturday and Sunday, one is Lake Louise recovery).
The weather is favorable in Colorado and so it should be up to and including the weekend: today therefore the downhill training (at 19.00 Italian, 11.00 local time, the start with Beat Feuz bib number 1), without an athlete in the home training, the US one. Already yesterday evening, at the captains' meeting, Markus Waldner had informed everyone about a confirmed positivity in Team USA, after that ten cases had already emerged on Sunday and then false positive results.
Upon arrival in Beaver Creek, an athlete tested positive for Covid-19; according to the Associated Press he is currently symptom-free, however he will miss the four races and the other members of the stars and stripes team have been tested repeatedly, resulting negative. Compared to Lake Louise, Team USA fields River Radamus in place of Erik Arvidsson (37th in the Canadian descent last Saturday), but at the moment it has not been confirmed whether the case concerns the 1996 class descender.

The first of the nine blues at the starting gate will be Christof Innerhofer (n ° 6), who won the descent on the Birds of Prey in 2012, then Dominik Paris (who doesn't particularly love this track) for 15th, Matteo Marsaglia with 21 and, with much higher numbers, Casse (37), Buzzi (40), Tonetti (45), Bosca (50), Molteni (62) and Zazzi (65), remembering that Italy will be able to field 8 athletes in super-g , instead having currently only 7 places available for the descents.
