Now, at 32 years of age, the native of Lower Austria will have to start from a decidedly serious injury like the one remedied last February, in the 2nd heat of the Chamonix slalom which was then the last of the season. The rupture of the crusader of the left knee did not, however, bring down his spirit, as he stated in the interview with Andreas Raffeiner of skiweltcup.tv. “Even during the lockdown period and despite being stationary due to injury, I always thought about skiing because it's part of me. On Chamonix day I knew that my career could not end that way, I reacted and I know that I will come back because races are an essential part of me, since childhood. And I don't want to give it up so soon. " The family was decisive: "The time spent at home with my son Noah and my wife was extraordinarily beautiful - Marc's words - support me in the activity that I do and I think and hope I can be a model for my son" . And if slalom Austria suffered, as was obvious, the farewell to Marcel Hirscher's competitions, Digruber wants to look forward: "It was great to have an exceptional talent like Marcel in the team, since since everyone could take advantage of his qualities. But now we have to think about going as fast as possible and, thinking of the next two years with the World Cup and Olympics, I would certainly like to try to be there because the dream of every athlete is to participate in such events ". Digruber, in fact, in his long career has not yet managed to tear up a call for World Championships and Olympic Games.
