Matthias Mayer the fastest in the first test of Kitzbuehel

It was Matthias Mayer who was the fastest in the first time trial of the men's World Cup descent in Kitzbuehel.

The 28 year old Austrian Carinthian preceded the Canadian Benjamin Thomsen by 15 and the other Austrian Daniel Danklmeier, winner yesterday of the European Cup descent on the Streif shortened and dropped with the number 47. Fourth the best of the Blues, Dominik Paris, fifth the French Johan Clarey, sixth Austrian Hannes Reichelt, seventh and eighth the other two French Adrien Theaux and Brice Roger, ninth the German Josef Ferstl, tenth the Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr, the eleventh Swiss Beat Feuz. Followed by, among others, the fifteenth Austrian Otmar Striedinger, sixteenth the Swiss Mauro Caviezel, eighteenth the Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal, nineteenth the US Travis Ganong, thirty-third the Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, thirty-ninth the Austrian Max Franz, not arrived at the finish line the Swiss Carlo Janka and the Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud.
