It has often been the magic track of the Azzurri, that of the rebirth in difficult moments, such as the podium taken by Florian Eisath three years ago, the last of the Azzurri giants in the World Cup and just in the most awaited classic.
Sunday will be the time of Gran Risa, in the heart of Alta Badia who will try to push the nine Azzurri called up for the third giant of the season (it would have been the fourth, without the cancellation in Val d''Isère) to the company.
Leading the troops will be Luca De Aliprandini, still looking for his first podium in CdM, having always done well on the queen track, from 7th place last year, to the eighth of 2017 and again another seventh in 2016 , right on the great day of Eisath.
At the side of the Trentino, we will see captain Manfred Moelgg, on the house snow to try to play it again at least for the top ten, with Simon Maurberger (in search of the first seasonal points), Riccardo Tonetti, Giulio Bosca, Giovanni Borsotti, Andrea Ballerin, Hannes Zingerle and Roberto Nani to complete the training. The livignasco, as expected, was re-summoned after the decision to bring it back, one year after the last race (Saalbach, 19 December 2018) in the World Cup, unable to compete in Savoy last week.
The boys of Lorenzi and Saracco are training in Val Passiria, before moving from Thursday to Alta Badia: after the giant on Sunday, there will then be the parallel giant on Monday for which the Italian formation has yet to be defined.
