Snow and lots of humidity, everything blows up in Val Gardena: men's super-g cancelled

Nothing to do for the second race on the "Saslong": after a 30-minute postponement, it was decided to send everyone back to the hotel. Now there are two seasonal super-g's to make up for, while the classic downhill is scheduled for Saturday.

It should have been the hundredth race in the history of the World Cup in Val Gardena, but there was nothing to do with the adverse weather, in the form of snowfall (more than twenty centimeters) since yesterday evening and above all a lot of humidity and the transformation into rain in the lower part, with the surface of the Saslong becoming dangerous. After having postponed the start by half an hour, from 11.45 to 12.15, Markus Waldner has definitively canceled the men's super-g scheduled for today, the third round of the season for jet men. On Saturday, from 11.45 am, the classic downhill is scheduled, the complete one on the Saslong after yesterday's "sprint", but above all there are two super-g's now to be made up on the calendar, after the one already skipped in Lake Louise.
