Halfway through the long weekend in Beaver Creek, that is, after the two super-gs played on the Birds of Prey and before the descents scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, the situation in the general classification of the men's World Cup sees Marco Odermatt increasingly leader, with the 80 points won today which means +100 against Matthias Mayer, fourth in the super-g won by Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.
The Norwegian winner of the 2019/2020 crystal ball, climbs up the slope while already paying 200 points behind the Swiss, clearly the first favorite with the Austrians behind him and Alexis Pinturault, fifth at an altitude of 125, who will have to try to do the difference starting from the technical tests of the second weekend of December in Val d''Isère.
As for the super-g cup, holder Vincent Kriechmayr has left heavy points on the plate in these two days, already being -90 from Odermatt's red bib, who in turn leads with a nice +50 over Mayer.
The specialty WCSL has experienced important movements, with the return to the top ten of Kilde (a success was enough to get back to fourth place and take "cover" for the next races) and the entry of Ganong. Jansrud, Feuz and also Mattia Casse, now 11th and on the border between the even and odd numbers for the super-g in Val Gardena on 17 December, pay the consequences, given that Mauro Caviezel should be missing in that race too, ahead of him in the standings.
Christof Innerhofer is 17th now, Dominik Paris dangerously 19th and with the real risk, without a good performance on the Saslong, of coming out of the top 20 and finding himself starting with numbers from 21 to 30 for Bormio, where two super-gs are scheduled . It would certainly not be the best.
On the other hand, Matteo Marsaglia made a good recovery, now 36th and not far from the top 30 goal, after being forced to start with bibs over 50 in these first two super-gs of the season.
