The Austrian veteran has given up on the Saalbach races and will carry out joint tests on Monday. Out of the Lenzerheide finals, he will stop before trying again at 41 for the Olympic season.

He didn't want to end his career with that dramatic accident on the Stelvio in Bormio, at the end of December 2019.
He returned to the track at over 40 years old to try to win a pass for the world championships in Cortina and, even if he didn't succeed, he proved even with the 17th place in the last Garmisch super-g that he can still be competitive, albeit far from the standards of the past. Now Hannes Reichelt has to stop again, having announced the early end of the season due to knee problems which, on Monday, will be examined to establish the nature of the injury and establish recovery times.
The Wunderteam sprinter had played the first test of the Saalbach downhill on Wednesday, finishing in 57th position, before stopping and giving up on the home races; at this point, with the current 29th place in the super-g cup, there are no more chances even for the finals in Lenzerheide, but the goal is to try all right for the Olympic season and close, at 41 years played (he will celebrate them next 5th July), on the track.
