With the second place finish last Sunday in Levi slalom, Michael Matt did get their family in small group of the most successful families of all time in the history of winter sports.

The Austrian is in fact twenty-three became the third generation of Matt's Last brothers on the podium in a race valid for the World Cup circuit. The precursors of all, were undoubtedly the Norwegian brothers Ruud, who at the turn of the twenties and thirties have literally dominated the special jumping scenes. Sigmund the eldest of the three, has won an Olympic silver in his career in St. Moritz 1928, a world title in 1929 and a World Championship bronze in 1930.
The second son of Ruud, Birger, is undoubtedly the most famous of the three brothers. Birger Ruud in fact won two consecutive Olympic golds, three world titles and even a World Championship bronze medal in the Alpine combined skiing specialties. Finally, the younger brother Asbjørn, has completed the rich palmares family giving to Ruud of the 'gold medal at the World Championships in Lahti in 1938.
At the end of the sixties was the Cochran family to carve out the limelight, thanks to the performance of the brothers Marilyn, Barbara Ann, Bob and Lindy. The Skiing Cochran as were baptized at that time the four American skiers, obtained the best results thanks to the second daughter Barbara Ann that prevailed at the Olympic Games in Sapporo in 1972, he secured the 'world championship silver in 1970 and won three hits for a total of 18 podiums in the World Cup.
Great satisfaction also came from the "old" of "Skiing Cochran" Marilyn, which gave the family a world bronze in combined, 15 podiums and 3 victories in the World Cup. Finally, the Philoctetes success of Huber family is completed by the Olympic title Wilfried in tandem luge in Lillehammer in 1994, which also gained 7 victories in the World Cup and 13 medals in World and European.
