With a long series of posts on social networks, Andrew Weibrecht announced his retirement from competitive activity.

Born and raised in the Olympic city of Lake Placid, New York, Andrew Weibrecht, 32 years old on February 10th, played 157 World Cup races, the first in the Beaver Creek combo on November 30th 2006, although he is he was mainly a specialist in the fast races, the last the super-G in Kvitfjell last March 11th. But the US will be remembered because the first two of his four podiums in the Great Ski won them at the Olympics winning the bronze in Vancouver 2010 in super-G and silver in Sochi 2014 always in super-G, and when he brought home this medal had got only two tenths places in a Cup race. At the Olympics he returned this year but did not complete the super-G. At the World Championships he took part on four occasions between 2009 and 2017 (he missed those of 2011) and his best result was a ninth place downhill in 2015.
After the Russian Games, another nine times among the top ten in the Cup, these were two podiums, both in super-G: the third place in Beaver Creek and the second place in Kitzbühel in the 2015-2016 season, the one that in the end is was clearly his best in the Cup, in which he also achieved his best result in downhill finishing fifth in Beaver Creek and closed twenty-second in the overall standings and in that of descent and eighth in the super-G. In the 2006-2007 season he won the general classification of the Nor-Am Cup and the combined one and finished second in the super-G and third in the downhill one, winning three of his four races in the North American cadet circuit. At the Junior World Championships he was bronze in super-G in 2006. Between 2008 and 2015 he also won three podiums in the European Cup.
