With a long post of greetings and thanks the American David Chodounsky announced on Instagram his retirement from competitions.

Born on June 25, 1984, David Chodounsky came to light in the same hometown of Lindsey Vonn, Saint Paul, Minnesota. As a child the two also trained together, then David's family moved to Colorado in 1995. He arrived quite late in the World Cup, where he made his debut on December 21, 2009 in the slalom of Alta Badia and Circo Bianco its 96 races were mainly between narrow doors. He finished six times in the top ten, plus fifth place in the 2013 Moscow parallel, his best season was 2015-2016 in which he also achieved his best result, a fourth place in Val d'Isère.
His last cup race was the slalom in Kranjska Gora on March 4th. From 2011 to 2017 he participated in four editions of the World Championships finishing eleventh in giant and twelfth in slalom in St. Moritz in 2017, while he was eighteenth in slalom in his second Olympics, that of PyeongChang 2018. In Nor-Am Cup won the 2010 Loveland slalom finishing eight more times on the podium between slalom and giant.
