The 34-year-old Frenchman from Le Grand Bornand Steve Missillier announced his retirement from competitive skiing on social networks.

Born December 12, 1984 in Annecy, Missillier played 180 World Cup races, the first in the Sestriere slalom on December 13, 2004, the last in the Val d'isere giant on December 8, 2018. Specialist in technical races, he placed 34 times among the top ten in the Cup, one of which was a podium, the third place in the Val d'Isere slalom on 12 December 2010. Between 2007 and 2017 he participated in five editions of the World Cup, doing as best result the sixth place in the slalom, coincidentally, of Val d'sere in 2009.
But his best result ever was silver in the Sochi 2014 Olympic giant. Unfortunately he was haunted by many physical problems, especially his back, which affected his entire career and caused him to miss the entire season. 2017-2018, also in 2016 the internal collateral ligament of the knee was broken and was operated on the patella in 2017.
