Only nine blues have been called up for the technical races scheduled on Saturday and Sunday in Yuzawa Naeba which, four years after the last time, will return to host the men's World Cup with a giant and a slalom on the snow in the Japanese resort.
A fairly small expedition, the one that arrived today in the land of the Rising Sun: if on the one hand there are clearly the accident that occurred to Simon Maurberger, who ended the season prematurely in Chamonix, and the heavy flu condition accused by Alex Vinatzer, from the '' there is also a specific choice of the federation, as evidenced by the exclusion of Andrea Ballerin, who in giant has the guaranteed permanent position.
On Saturday therefore Italy will have only five athletes competing between the wide doors, with De Aliprandini, Borsotti, Tonetti, Sorio and Hannes Zingerle (although Sala could take the giant as happened in Chamonix), as many in slalom with Tonetti who will double and will compete together with Gross, Razzoli, Liberatore and Sala himself.
At home, therefore, also Vaccari and Bacher, with only the athletes scored in this season of CdM who have been brought to Japan.
