Thomas Dressen again operated after the "World Miracle": damage to the cartilage of the knee

The unfortunate German downhill skier, who returned to Cortina after the November hip surgery, discovered a new problem in his right knee. "I'll be back next season and work hard to be stronger."

He is one of the greatest sprinters in the world, but he has lived over two really troubled years Thomas Dressen. From the injury at Beaver Creek 2018 to the sensational return with victory in Lake Louise, new knee pains and then, last November, the surgery undergone on the hip that forced him to a real "miracle World Championship ”to compete in Cortina, obviously far from the best condition for the 18th place in the world descent on Vertigine. Right after participating in the world championships, the 27-year-old Bavarian stopped again: "I felt pain and suffered a swelling in my right knee (the same one injured on the Birds of Prey in that dramatic fall over 2 years ago, ed), so we did a new check and it emerged that the cartilage was too damaged in various places to avoid surgery ”. And so in the last few hours Dressen was operated on in Munich by Dr. Manuel Koehne; his season is obviously over (his last race in the World Cup dates back to 7 March 2020, Kvitfjell's descent), but for 2021/22 the German champion is confident he can finally be at 100%. “I will work hard to come back stronger”, the battle cry of Thomas, one of the great rivals of Dominik Paris himself already thinking about the Olympic season.
