Despite the great work of the organizers and the attempt to compete in the race by lowering the start, there was nothing to do. The Wengen downhill was finally canceled due to heavy snowfall that has raged in the Swiss resort.

For a good time the FIS has made the right decision. After seeing the destruction yesterday with the Combined Alpina, it certainly could not entrust the fate of the outcome of one of the most important and fascinating races on the calendar, without forgetting that the security situation would fail.
Therefore continues the difficult season of downhill skiers. So far it has only held one - the one in Val Gardena - the five originally planned races: Lake Louise (later replaced by Val d'Isere) and Beaver Creek have given package to the lack of snow, Santa Caterina for the strong wind and Wengen, ironically, too much snow.
Difficult to predict if and when the race will be recovered since the busy schedule, although it was feared the possibility of disputarla in Beaver Creek in early March, before the end of Aspen.
So the 87th edition of the Lauberhorn trophy will not assign the victory of the Descent. The Wengen of the three-day program will conclude tomorrow with the Slalom.
