All stopped even in the European Cup: the first Berchtesgaden slalom canceled, try again tomorrow

Men in the pits, the Bavarian track is not in the conditions to compete. Nine blues are expected at the gate, with Hans Vaccari (who would have started today with No. 4) the favorite to earn a bib for the return to CdM on Sunday in Adelboden.

Nothing to do even in the European Cup, as happened yesterday for the maximum circuit in Zagreb (hoping that today everything goes smoothly). The third men's slalom of the season of the continental circuit, after the opening of all-Italian specialties, in mid-December between Obereggen and Pozza di Fassa, was canceled in Berchtesgaden, where the weather conditions (rain and high temperatures) did not certainly helped in the preparation of a track that led the competition jury to leave the athletes directly at the hotel, well before the reconnaissance and the opening heat set at 10.00. It will try again tomorrow, Friday 7 January, when the second slalom in the Bavarian town was already scheduled, and it will be an important race (as long as it is possible to compete) also for Italy in view ... Adelboden. The blue technical staff had in fact decided to choose the seventh slalom runner, to be proposed on Sunday in the CdM test on Chuenisbargli, based on the results of the two days of Chuenisbargli. The favorite to get the pass that would take him back to the top circuit, one year after the rupture of the crusader remedied in Flachau, is Hans Vaccari, who today would have gone down with bib number 4 and started the season really well. Also engaged in Germany Federico Liberatore, in search of the best conditions after the new setbacks at the beginning of the season, Tommaso Saccardi (who made his debut in the World Cup in Campiglio), Hannes Zingerle, Matteo Canins and, albeit with very high bibs for this race European Cup, Pietro Canzio, Manuel Ploner, Riccardo Allegrini and Corrado Barbera.
