The first week of training continues in Ushuaia for the Italian women from the World Cup groups, from the quartet consisting of Bassino, Goggia, Pirovano and Curtoni to the seven giant slalom specialists (Mondinelli, Trocker, Valleriani, Pazzaglia, Rossetti, Della Mea and Collomb), as well as for the ten technical-event specialists in the men's national team.

Conditions in Chile are different, with decidedly challenging weather, especially at El Colorado, where the American team led by Mikaela Shiffrin and Kilde's Norway have based themselves. Today, in addition, Norway is mourning the death of King Harald V.

The Wunderteam's speed specialists arrived in La Parva in recent days, while the French arrived in the past few hours. The same South American resort is also one week away from welcoming Italy's World Cup speed team.

Good news has arrived in the meantime from Lauren Macuga, who, nine months after tearing the ACL in her right knee during a giant slalom training session at Copper Mountain a few days before beginning the Olympic season with the speed races in Sankt Moritz, has at least returned to the simulator. She did so under the watchful eye of Breezy Johnson, who returned from Chile a few days early precisely because of the conditions she found there over the past week.

Finally, there is news regarding Sam Maes, with the Belgian giant slalom specialist officially announcing an agreement with Team USA to receive support by training with them—starting with the trip to New Zealand—for the entire season, following his forced departure from the Global Racing Team, which, as is known, closed down at the end of last season.
