The great youth alpine skiing event will bring athletes from 31 different nations to Trentino. From next Wednesday in Folgaria the start of the international phase.

Now everything is ready in Folgaria for the 51st edition of the AlpeCimbra FIS Children Cup. Next week the appointment will be renewed with the event born in the late fifties and since 1970 recognized as International Youth Criterium FIS, enough to launch the talents of alpine skiing year after year. It starts on Monday 24 January on the Agonistica and Martinella Nord tracks, with the two days of competitions reserved for the best young people of the Peninsula and valid as Selections of the Italian Team.
Up for grabs is the Cassa Rurale Vallagarina trophy with 400 athletes competing under 14 and under 16. From Wednesday 26, the competitions will then take on an international level with the Team Event, or the spectacular Team Parallel. The intense program then includes a day of respite, specifically Thursday reserved for training, accreditation, jury meetings and draws. Friday and Saturday, the key events, with the giants on the competitive track and the slalom on the Martinella Nord who will designate the heirs, just to remain in the last two decades, of the various Dominik Paris, Beat Feuz, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, Marta Bassino, Anna Fenninger and Mikaela Shiffrin.
At the moment, 31 nations representing 4 continents have confirmed their presence. The AlpeCimbra FIS Children Cup 2022 was presented this morning at the headquarters of Trentino Marketing, where the number one of Trentino sports, Paola Mora, opened the dance: "A heartfelt thanks goes to volunteers and sponsors - the words of President of Coni Trentino - because it is not easy to make precious time and financial contributions available in this particular moment ". Optimistic the President of the Fisi of Trentino, Tiziano Mellarini: “This edition of the AlpeCimbra FIS Children Cup is marked by a restart. I am sure that some of the protagonists of this year will meet again at the 2026 Olympics that we will host in Trentino and in other Italian regions ".
Roberto Failoni, councilor for crafts, trade, promotion, sport and tourism of the Autonomous Province of Trento echoed him: "For such an event, the preparation of the slopes will be at World Cup levels, but on Alpe Cimbra as in the rest of Trentino we can rest assured in this sense. We hope for important results from our boys, but we must not forget that a certain Alberto Tomba has never won this race, so even for those who do not excel there will be time to make up for it ”.
To bring the greetings of the Magnificent Community of the Cimbri Highlands, Commissioner Nicoletta Carbonari thought of us: "The event is in the heart of our territory, I am happy that it is emphasized that the AlpeCimbra FIS Children Cup is a meeting of sport and friendship ". On the same wavelength Nicola Port, president of the Apt AlpeCimbra: “This is the main manifestation of our territory. Now we see the tip of the iceberg, but there is a huge amount of work underneath ”. Alessandro Casti, managing director of Folgaria Ski, puts his hand on the quality of the slopes: "The slopes are perfect, we are ready for what is the flagship of our area".

Unfortunately, the latest decrees have put us in difficulty and some countries have had to give up, but I would like to remind you that last year even without vaccines during the AlpeCimbra Fis Children Cup not even one infection was recorded ". During the presentation, Gianni Tognotti, councilor of the Cassa Rurale Vallagarina to whom the Selections of the Italian National team on Monday and Tuesday are named, and Ezio Gobbi, president of the Dao Group which supports the AlpeCimbra FIS Children Cup with the Conad brand. From Monday the word will pass to the children, the real protagonists of the sport and friendship meeting called AlpeCimbra FIS Children Cup.
